It was January 2008 - the market was roaring and I was in business growth/expansion mode. I also had it in my head that I was going to drive the Rolex 24hr at Daytona. As we started to vector in on The Racers Group as our support for the Rolex race, we learned about their startup effort in NASCAR. Win-Lose or Draw - it felt like the access being a limited partner would present was worth the price of admission. I wrote the check.
Fast forward 2 years later and we have Truck Wins, ARCA top 10s and in 2009 20+ Sprint Cup starts under our belt….but no sponsor.
9.18.09 at Loudon, NH - NASCAR will be in town. This includes my team, TRG Motorsports. As you may know, we’ve just signed Bobby LaBonte, former Sprint Cup Champion in 2000, he’s taken his 570 consecutive starts to our start up team. Great news, except for the sponsor part.
As a limited partner, I’ve suggested that the team leverages it’s time here next weekend and forms a regional

advisory board of business leaders. My thought was to reach out to my car person relationships, whom are also area business leaders, and ask for any insight and guidance they might have.
As such, we’re meeting at the New Hampshire MotorSpeedway NASCAR garages next Friday, 9.18.09 at 2pm for a team meet-n-greet and garage tour. We’ll then watch the team qualify and head to downtown Concord for a lobster dinner at The Draft.
Bobby, team crew chief Slugger Labbe and TRG Chief Marketing Officer - Torrey Galida will join us to get feedback on what the guests think businesses in the New England area might like to hear as they consider a sponsorship opportunity for what might be the greatest business to consumer marketing venue of all time, NASCAR Sprint Cup.
